The system integrated automation control system with VFD, to provide the underground coal mines service transportation system with safety, reliability, and improved transportation capability. The system includes Operate, Control, Protect, and Drive, to automatic control the soft start and soft stop of underground coal mines endless rope winch.

Basic Function
Bi-direction Start/Stop control and protection of the winch. Protection including head/tail over rolling, over speed, skidding, out of rail, emergency stop along the rail, as well as the start warning. The operation status of train, such as operate state, current speed, current location, and fault tag and total operate time, are displayed on LCD of operation console. The protection function can integrate with the optional communication system. In emergency case the operation can be mobile stop by handheld devices, which device also have the function to send out single stroke signal and voice communication.
Electric Interlockv
- Electric start circuit is interlocked with start enable signal. The train cannot be started without enable signal.
- Emergency stop circuit interlock. The train will be stopped safely once emergency stop pushbutton pressed.
- Once Main motor over temperature alarm, the motor will be locked after the train’s journey completed.
- Over rolling direction is interlocked with train direction. In case over rolling, the train can go through only the direction that against the over rolling direction.
- Safety circuit is interlocked with braking devices. In case safety braking, the braking devices will brake immediately.
- When the train arrived the slowdown point, the sound/light waning will be initiated and the train will slow the speed down.
- External protection system interlocks with safety circuit, once external protection system failure, the train will be braked.
Safe Guard
- Over Rolling: the over rolling is protected by both software and hardware. Once over rolling protection active, the winch will be braked.
- Over Speed: when the trains speed over 15% of maximum speed in the constant speed section, winch will be braked.
- Rotation Speed Sensor fault: when the train is running, once the speed signal from rotation speed sensor lower than minimum set value, a rotation speed sensor failure protection is initiated, and the winch will be braked.
- Direction wrong: winch will be braked if the direction is different with work direction.
- Driving system fault: when the VFD fault, such as over voltage, under voltage, over load, short circuit, phase failure, hardware protection is active,while motor over current, blocked, zero torque output, software protection is active. Once hardware/software protection active, the winch will be braked.
- The driver desk has an emergency stop pushbutton, which is connected directly to hardware safety circuit directly.
